About
Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) is a pan-African investment-grade multilateral financial institution established in 2007 via a treaty among sovereign African states to provide pragmatic solutions to Africa’s growing infrastructure deficit by developing and financing infrastructure, natural resources and industrial assets. It has 37 African countries as members and has grown to become a leading provider of private sector-led infrastructure investment solutions in Africa – deploying nearly $10 billion in 36 countries on the continent.
AFC’s Project Development platform turns promising infrastructure concepts into bankable, high-impact projects across Africa. By funding early-stage activities, such as feasibility studies, technical assessments, and contract negotiations, AFC helps de-risk projects and attract investment. The goal is to build a strong pipeline of development-ready projects that align with Africa’s infrastructure needs and AFC’s mission to drive sustainable economic growth.
