CONTEXT
The Annual Assembly of the Cities Climate Finance Leadership Alliance (CCFLA) will consist of two parts: a members-only morning session, followed by the public launch of the latest edition of our flagship report, the State of Cities Climate Finance 2024. Funded by the German Government (BMZ and BMWK), this report examines the current state of urban climate investment, assesses urban climate finance needs, and provides recommendations on how to close the finance gap.
Now more than ever, we must engage in urgent discussions on how cities can effectively tackle the climate crisis and secure the necessary funding for this transition. Since its launch in 2014, CCFLA has been at the forefront, convening global stakeholders to address these challenges and accelerate urban climate finance.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2024, CCFLA looks forward to convening its Members in New York for the annual Assembly for an opportunity to reflect on the collective progress made over the past decade and discuss the most pressing challenges cities continue to encounter in the face of accelerating climate change impacts. The time to act is now.
GOALS
The 2024 CCFLA Annual Assembly will enable productive conversations on how to advance our collective goal of mobilizing finance for city-level climate action at scale by 2030.
The Assembly will:
- Celebrate CCFLA’s 10th anniversary, marking a decade of dedicated efforts to accelerate urban climate finance.
- Present the latest figures on the State of Cities Climate Finance and cities’ climate finance needs.
- Provide opportunities for CCFLA Members to organize sessions and engage in more technical discussions around priority topics.
