CCFLA will be hosting and speaking at several events during pre-COP sessions in Rio de Janeiro, taking place in the lead-up to COP30.

CCFLA Networking Happy Hour
CCFLA will host a networking happy hour event, bringing together CCFLA members and urban climate finance partners for an evening of conversation and networking near the beach in Ipanema.

CCFLA Brazil Local Hub Second Convening
The 2nd CCFLA Brazil Hub meeting will take place in Rio. This roundtable ‘Coordinating Actions for the Financing of Urban Nature-based Solutions (NBS) in Brazil,’ will be held in partnership with the FISC Network, and jointly promoted by CCFLA, WRI Brasil, and the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change (MMA).
The event will bring together public financial institutions, multilateral development banks, city networks, and technical partners to coordinate actions aimed at accelerating investments in urban Nature-based Solutions (NBS) in Brazil. The discussion will take place within the framework of initiatives promoted by the Green and Resilient Cities Programme, the CCFLA Brazil Hub, and the CHAMP initiative. (Note: this meeting will be held in Portuguese)

COP30 Local Leaders Forum
C40 World Mayors Summit
Head of the CCFLA Secretariat, Barbara Buchner, will moderate a panel during the C40 World Mayors Summit parallel session on ‘Climate Finance: Unlocking Urban Investment’. The session will bring together Mayors from across the globe to discuss what actions they are taking to finance urban climate action.

Accelerating climate solutions for small and medium cities infrastructure to achieve SDGs
CCFLA will participate in a roundtable on ‘Accelerating Solutions for Local Climate Action’ at this pre-COP event hosted by Brazil’s Ministry of Cities. The meeting will bring together government leaders, mayors, and global partners to showcase the ‘Plan to Accelerate Resilient Urban Infrastructure’ under the COP30 Action Agenda.

UN Climate Change Global Innovation Forum
CCFLA will join a roundtable discussion as part of this 2-day forum titled ‘From Local Action to Global Impact: Subnational Climate Action and Financing.’ The Forum aims to provide subnational governments with a collaborative space alongside solution providers to back cast and translate their long-term vision for meeting citizens’ core human needs into actionable goals.

Urban Transitions Mission Global Innovation Summit
CCFLA will set the scene for a discussion on ‘Setting up special purpose vehicles and bonds’ issuance for net-zero transitions’ providing expertise on the use of these mechanisms and case studies of their use in innovative cities globally.
